What is Rural/Social Internship

  •  A two-week program conducted by D. Y. Patil school  of Engineering & Management for first-year engineering students
  • Takes place in rural villages to expose students to rural life and development issues
  • Aims to help students apply classroom knowledge to real-world problems in rural settings

  • Duration: 10 days
  • Location: Rural villages 
  • Activities include:
  • Meeting with village leaders and gram panchayat members
  • Visiting local schools, health centers, and small industries
  • Conducting village surveys and problem identification
  • Proposing solutions to village issues
  • Students work in groups to identify problems and develop potential solutions
  • Involves interaction with villagers and understanding rural challenges
  • Focuses on areas like education, healthcare, agriculture, water management, etc.

Guidelines for the Internship

  • Internship Period: Two Weeks
  • Time : From 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in a day
  • Internship is mandatory course as per curriculum.
  • Marks for Internship: 50
    50 marks evaluation format is available in internship report.
  • If any student remains absent for internship, his or her result will be awaited.
  • Students are instructed to complete the internship in the allocated village.
  • Attendance in internship is compulsory
    College uniform, ID card is compulsory.
  • Geo tag photos of daily activities of internship are compulsory.
  • Complete the internship report in typed format as per the format provided by the institute.
  • Internship report will be evaluated by external examiners.

We are delighted to introduce the Social/Rural Internship Program at D.Y. Patil College of Engineering & Technology. This program aims to foster a deeper understanding of community needs and empower students to contribute meaningfully to rural development. It is an integral part of our institution’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible engineers.

Under the guidance of our esteemed faculty, students will engage in activities designed to identify and address the pressing issues faced by the rural community. Through this internship, they will gain hands-on experience in problem-solving, teamwork, and communication, while developing essential skills in project management and financial planning.
